Katalin’s Dance Journey

Katalin is an internationally recognized dancer, instructor, choreographer, who is a native of Hungary, and now lives in Quincy, MA. Having her roots in ballet and jazz, she entered the world of competitive ballroom dancing in the mid 1990’s. She quickly became a respected dancer in both Standard and Latin American ballroom styles, winning or advancing to the finals of every competition she entered (Finalist, National Standard Championship; Second place, Professional Latin Championship).

In 2004 she graduated from the prestigious Hungarian Dance Academy as a ballroom dance instructor and hence worked at several prominent institutions and studios bringing success to various students (including a Hungarian National Champion, hobby dancers, wedding couples and formation groups).

Two years later she earned her second Master’s degree at the reputable Hungarian Eotvos Lorand University and moved to the U.S. Since then, she has been an active dance instructor at numerous institutions, clubs and dance studios such as Berklee College of Music, Northeastern University, Fred Astaire Dance Studio Boston, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Lasell College, The Sports Club LA and others.

Katalin worked with well-established artists, performing and teaching at popular venues such as the Hungarian National Sports Arena, Gjon Delhusa Album Release Concert, Daniel Benko Television Show, New England and Lowell Culture Festival, Berklee College of Music Hispanic Heritage Month Program, International Folk Festival and Boston Latin Music Culture Celebration. She also performed and taught at countless fundraisers and charity events including the Benefit for Haiti, Medical Missions for Children and Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester helping many people in need. Her media appearances include The Finest Hours Disney motion picture (principal dancer), The Boston Globe, Boston City Paper, Rhode Island Film Collaborative, New England Ethnic News, New Hampshire Nightclub News and others.
